New nerve block offers hope for less painful recovery in kids
NCT ID NCT06563622
Summary
This study compared two different nerve-block techniques to manage pain in children aged 1-7 after hip surgery. The goal was to find a safe and effective way to control pain while reducing the need for strong opioid painkillers, which can have serious side effects. Researchers tested an ultrasound-guided PENG block against a standard caudal block to see which provided better and longer-lasting pain relief with fewer complications.
