Acupuncture-like nerve stimulation may ease pain during IVF egg retrieval

NCT ID NCT07212127

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special type of nerve stimulation (TENS based on wrist-ankle acupuncture) combined with a painkiller (tramadol) can reduce pain during egg retrieval for IVF. Sixty women will be randomly assigned to receive either the real stimulation or a fake version, both with the same painkiller. The goal is to see if the added stimulation improves pain control and reduces nausea after the procedure.
