New study seeks best pain relief for chest surgery patients

Summary

This study compares two pain relief methods for adults having video-assisted chest surgery. One method is a nerve block injection near the ribs, and the other is a spinal injection of morphine. The goal is to see which approach reduces pain and the need for opioid painkillers after surgery. About 60 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups.
