NCT ID NCT07163026

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study compares two types of nerve blocks to see which one better controls pain after open ventral hernia repair. Fifty adults will receive either an erector spinae plane block or an external oblique-intercostal plane block before surgery. The main goal is to measure how much extra pain medicine (tramadol) they need in the first 24 hours after surgery. The results could help reduce opioid use and improve recovery.
