First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested two different nerve-block methods to manage pain after video-assisted lung surgery (VATS). 176 adults received either a long-acting liposomal bupivacaine intercostal block or a standard bupivacaine paravertebral block. The main goal was to see which method reduced the need for opioid painkillers in the first 48 hours after surgery.
