New nerve block could ease pain after chest surgery
NCT ID NCT07275047
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 12, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study compares two types of nerve blocks to control pain after chest surgery (thoracotomy). The goal is to see if a newer block (SPSIP) works as well as the standard block (paravertebral) in reducing pain and the need for opioids. About 80 adults scheduled for thoracotomy will take part. The results could offer a safe and effective alternative for pain management.
