First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares two types of nerve blocks to manage pain after chest surgery (thoracotomy). The goal is to see if a newer block, called SPSIP, works as well as the standard paravertebral block. About 80 adults having chest surgery will take part, and the study will measure how much pain medicine they need and their pain scores.
