New study tests which nerve block better controls pain after mastectomy

NCT ID NCT07197177

Summary

This study compared two different nerve block techniques for managing pain after breast cancer surgery. Researchers tested whether a pectoral plane block or an erector spinae plane block worked better to reduce patients' need for morphine pain medication. The trial involved 42 South Asian women undergoing mastectomy surgery to see which method provided more effective pain relief.
