New Pain-Fighting combo could ease recovery after breast cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07022353
Summary
This study tested whether combining two pain control methods works better than one for patients having breast removal surgery (mastectomy). Researchers gave 90 patients a nerve-blocking injection and compared adding a single pill of a muscle relaxant/analgesic (tizanidine) beforehand. The goal was to see if the combination provided longer and stronger pain relief after surgery, potentially reducing the need for strong opioid painkillers and the risk of developing long-term pain.
