Summary

This study tested whether adding magnesium sulfate to a standard numbing medicine (bupivacaine) could make pain relief last longer after breast cancer surgery. Sixty women having a mastectomy received a nerve block with or without magnesium. The goal was to see if the magnesium group had longer pain relief after surgery.
