Three-Drug combo tested to ease agony after lung operations

NCT ID NCT07359469

Summary

This study looked at whether giving three medications (lidocaine, ketamine, and magnesium) during lung surgery helps reduce pain and the need for strong opioid painkillers afterward. Researchers observed 118 adults who had lung surgery, comparing those who received the three-drug combination to those who did not. The goal was to see if this approach leads to less pain in the first 24 hours and less risk of long-term pain.
