New drug duo aims to ease liposuction pain, cut opioid need

NCT ID NCT04862845

Summary

This study tested whether giving two non-opioid medications, duloxetine and pregabalin, around the time of liposuction surgery could better manage pain afterward. The goal was to see if this combination could reduce patients' need for strong opioid painkillers like morphine, which can have significant side effects. Researchers enrolled 90 adults undergoing elective liposuction to compare pain levels, medication use, and patient satisfaction.
