New painkiller combo could ease recovery after keyhole surgery

Summary
This study tests whether adding a long-acting numbing drug (liposomal bupivacaine) to the usual numbing medicine reduces pain after laparoscopic surgery better than the usual medicine alone. About 190 adults having gallbladder, hernia, or appendix surgery will take part. The goal is to see if the combination lowers the need for strong pain relievers in the first two days after surgery.
