Summary

This study tests a new ultrasound-guided nerve block called Quadro-Iliac Plane (QIP) to manage pain after total hip replacement. 100 adults having hip surgery will either get the QIP block with numbing medicine or a sham injection with salt water. The main goal is to see if the QIP block reduces the amount of opioid painkillers needed in the first 24 hours after surgery.
