Nerve blocks may cut opioid use after bypass surgery
NCT ID NCT07599748
First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether adding nerve blocks (parasternal and adductor canal blocks) to standard pain medicine can reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers after coronary artery bypass surgery. About 120 adults having planned bypass surgery will be randomly assigned to one of three pain management approaches. The goal is to find a way to help patients recover with less pain and fewer opioids.
