New drug combo aims to stop surgery pain from becoming permanent
NCT ID NCT06833203
Summary
This study tested whether adding the drug amantadine to the standard pain medication pregabalin could better prevent long-term pain after major chest surgery (thoracotomy). It involved 60 adults undergoing lung cancer surgery. Researchers compared the two-drug combination against pregabalin alone to see which was more effective at stopping pain from becoming a chronic problem.
