Summary
This study tested whether adding dexmedetomidine to a standard numbing medicine (bupivacaine) improves pain relief after major lower abdominal cancer surgery. 54 adults received either a quadratus lumborum block or an epidural block. The main goal was to see how long pain relief lasted before needing more pain medicine.
