New pain block could transform C-Section recovery

NCT ID NCT07411521

First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to manage pain after a planned C-section: the standard combined spinal-epidural method and a newer ultrasound-guided block called erector spinae plane block. Researchers will enroll 90 women to see which method provides better pain control, faster recovery, and fewer side effects. The goal is to improve comfort and reduce the need for strong painkillers after surgery.
