New study tests better pain relief for breast surgery patients

NCT ID NCT07301840

Summary

This study compared two methods for managing pain after breast-conserving surgery. Researchers tested whether an ultrasound-guided nerve block (ESPB) or a local injection at the surgical site (LWI) worked better to reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers like morphine. The trial involved 66 female patients and measured pain levels, medication use, and side effects over 24 hours after surgery.
