New nerve block technique tested to reduce Post-Surgery pain
NCT ID NCT04827030
Summary
This study compared two types of nerve blocks given before breast cancer surgery to see which better controls pain afterward. Researchers tested whether a newer technique (erector spinae block) works as well as a standard one (paravertebral block) at reducing the need for morphine in the first hours after surgery. The trial involved 292 women undergoing breast cancer operations and measured pain levels, medication use, and side effects.
