First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests if a single injection of a long-lasting numbing medicine (liposomal bupivacaine) into the scalp can provide better pain relief after brain surgery compared to the standard numbing medicine. About 118 adults having brain surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the new or standard injection. The goal is to see if the new medicine reduces pain and the need for strong painkillers for up to 3 days after surgery.
