New study aims to find best pain block for back surgery patients

Summary
This study compares two ultrasound-guided nerve blocks to see which provides better pain relief after lower back surgery. 80 adults having elective lumbar surgery will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two blocks. The main goal is to measure how much opioid pain medication they need in the first 48 hours after surgery.
