First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study compares two ultrasound-guided nerve blocks—modified thoracolumbar interfascial plane block and quadro-iliac plane block—for pain relief after lower back surgery. About 80 adults undergoing elective lumbar instrumentation will receive one of the two blocks. The goal is to see which block reduces opioid use and improves recovery in the first 48 hours after surgery.
