New pain block challenges standard for faster recovery after surgery

NCT ID NCT04985695

Summary

This study is testing which of two pain control methods works better for people recovering from major abdominal surgery. It compares the standard epidural pain relief to a newer method called a rectus sheath block. The goal is to see which technique helps patients feel better, get moving sooner, and leave the hospital faster with fewer side effects.
