New nerve block challenges gold standard for Post-Surgery pain relief

NCT ID NCT06130670

Summary

This study compared two different methods for managing pain after major lower abdominal cancer surgery. Researchers tested a newer ultrasound-guided nerve block against the traditional epidural method, both using an enhancer medication called dexmedetomidine. The goal was to see which technique provided longer-lasting pain relief with fewer side effects for patients.
