New study tests simple washout to ease pain after scarless hysterectomy
NCT ID NCT07467577
First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looks at whether rinsing the belly with salt water during a low-pressure, scarless hysterectomy (vNOTES) can lower pain and the need for painkillers after surgery. About 94 women scheduled for this procedure will be randomly assigned to receive the washout or not. The goal is to see if this simple step helps reduce discomfort from trapped gas and speeds up recovery.
