Doctors track pain and hopes of cancer surgery patients

Summary
This study aims to understand the pain experience and recovery process for patients undergoing major surgery for liver, esophageal, or pancreatic cancer. Researchers will follow 200 patients to record their pain levels, medication use, and quality of life before and after surgery. The study will also explore how patients' expectations before surgery compare to their actual recovery experience months later.
