First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at how the brain naturally reduces pain in healthy adults. Researchers will use mild heat and pressure to trigger the body's pain-inhibiting pathway, and brain stimulation (TMS) to measure brain activity. The goal is to understand how factors like stress and optimism affect pain control. 75 pain-free volunteers aged 18-75 will participate.
