New pain strategy aims to get gallbladder surgery patients home sooner with less opioid use

NCT ID NCT06885086

Summary

This study is testing a specific plan for managing pain after minimally invasive gallbladder surgery. The plan combines several non-opioid pain medications and a local numbing injection at the surgical site. Researchers will compare this plan to the hospital's previous standard approach to see if it reduces pain, shortens hospital stays, and decreases the need for strong opioid painkillers.
