First seen Dec 15, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether an extra nerve block (SPSIPB) can reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers after minimally invasive heart surgery. 50 adults were split into two groups: one got standard pain relief plus the nerve block, the other got standard care alone. The main goal was to see if the block lowered total opioid use in the first 24 hours after surgery.
