New study tests brain training vs nerve zaps for arthritis pain relief
NCT ID NCT07274124
Summary
This study aims to see if teaching patients about how pain works in the brain (pain neuroscience education) or gently stimulating a major nerve (vagus nerve stimulation) works better than traditional exercise for people with rheumatoid arthritis. Researchers will enroll 36 adults with long-term rheumatoid arthritis pain to test these different approaches over 8 weeks. The main goal is to reduce pain, improve daily function, and see which method helps patients feel better overall.
