Can changing how you think about pain ease your shoulder?

NCT ID NCT06677450

Summary

This study tested whether adding pain science education to standard shoulder exercises helps people with long-term rotator cuff pain. Forty-two adults with shoulder pain for at least 3 months were split into two groups: one did exercises plus education about how pain works in the nervous system, while the other did exercises only. Researchers measured changes in pain levels, shoulder function, and quality of life over six weeks to see if the combined approach was more effective.
