NCT ID NCT06951191

First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study aimed to see if applying a numbing gel (benzocaine) before a lidocaine injection could reduce pain during IUD insertion. It planned to compare different combinations of numbing medicines and placebos in adults 18 and older. However, the trial was terminated early after enrolling only 1 person, so no meaningful results were obtained.
