New pain block may reduce opioid use after breast surgery

Summary

This study tested two types of nerve blocks to control pain after breast surgery. One hundred adults received either a serratus posterior superior intercostal plane block or a pectoral nerve (PECS II) block. The goal was to see which block lowers the need for morphine and helps patients breathe better after surgery.
