Numbing the pain: new block tested for Post-Surgery comfort
NCT ID NCT07101835
Summary
This study looked at a specific nerve block technique to help control pain after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, a common weight loss surgery. Researchers tested how well the block numbed the abdominal area and whether it reduced patients' pain scores and need for opioid painkillers in the first day after surgery. They measured the area of numbness and tracked pain medication use in 20 patients.
