New pain block technique tested for big belly surgeries

Summary
This study compares two ways to numb the belly area before open upper abdominal surgery. One method is newer and the other is standard. The goal is to see which one works better for pain control and is easier for doctors to learn. About 100 adults having surgery like stomach or liver removal will take part.
