New nerve block tested to ease agony of chest surgery

NCT ID NCT07367581

Summary

This study compares two different nerve-blocking techniques to manage pain after major chest surgery for lung cancer. Researchers want to see if a newer method (costotransverse foramen block) works as well or better than a more common one (thoracic paravertebral block) at reducing pain and the need for strong painkillers like morphine. The trial involves 70 adults in Egypt undergoing this specific surgery.
