Back injection could slash need for strong pain meds after surgery

NCT ID NCT07479069

Summary

This study is testing if a nerve block injection in the back can help patients use fewer opioid painkillers after major abdominal surgery. It involves 46 patients having open abdominal surgery. Half will receive the standard pain control, while the other half will get the nerve block in addition to standard care to see if it reduces their need for strong pain medication.
