New nerve block could ease Kids' pain after major hip operations
NCT ID NCT05832671
Summary
This study tested a new method to manage pain in children aged 2-7 after hip reconstruction surgery. Researchers compared a newer ultrasound-guided nerve block (ESB) to a standard nerve block (caudal block) to see which provided better and longer-lasting pain relief after the operation. The goal was to reduce the children's pain, decrease their need for strong painkillers, and help them recover more comfortably.
