New pain block could ease hernia surgery recovery
NCT ID NCT07324863
Summary
This study is testing whether a specific nerve-blocking injection, guided by ultrasound, can reduce the body's stress response and improve pain control for adults having umbilical hernia repair surgery. Researchers will compare the injection to standard care in 100 participants. The main goal is to see if this block leads to less pain, lower stress hormone levels, and reduced need for strong painkillers after surgery.
