New injection could slash pain after common hernia op

NCT ID NCT06092073

Summary

This study tested whether a new type of nerve block injection could better control pain after surgery to repair an epigastric hernia (a bulge in the upper abdomen). Researchers compared pain levels and the need for strong painkillers like morphine in 40 adults who received either this new block or standard care. The goal was to see if the injection provided safer, longer-lasting pain relief after the operation.
