First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested two types of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks to manage pain after open total abdominal hysterectomy. 42 adults received either a transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block or an ilioinguinal-iliohypogastric (IIH) block. The goal was to see which block delays the need for extra pain medicine longer within the first 24 hours after surgery.
