First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study compares two types of nerve blocks—erector spinae plane block and lateral transversus abdominis plane block—for pain relief after open appendix removal. About 68 adults will receive one of the blocks before surgery, and researchers will measure how much morphine they need afterward and how well they recover. The goal is to find which block provides better pain control and improves recovery quality.
