Battle of the blocks: which pain relief works best after major surgery?

NCT ID NCT07233629

Summary

This study compares two different nerve block techniques to see which provides better pain relief after abdominal surgery. Researchers tested 60 patients undergoing abdominal surgery, randomly giving them either a modified thoracoabdominal nerve block or a rectus sheath block. The goal is to determine which method reduces pain more effectively and decreases the need for additional pain medications during the first 24 hours after surgery.
