Battle of the blocks: which nerve numbing works best after belly surgery?

NCT ID NCT07233603

Summary

This study compares two different nerve-block techniques to see which one better controls pain after major abdominal surgery. Doctors tested two methods—one targeting a deeper muscle layer and one targeting a sheath near the abdominal muscles—in 60 patients. The goal is to find which approach provides more effective pain relief and reduces the need for strong rescue painkillers like tramadol in the first day after surgery.
