Scientists search for better ways to detect pain in tiniest patients
NCT ID NCT02885051
Summary
This study aimed to compare different methods for measuring pain in premature babies. Researchers tested whether monitoring heart rate changes and skin electrical activity could work as well as watching a baby's behavior and facial expressions. The goal was to find more reliable ways to detect when these vulnerable infants are experiencing pain during medical procedures.
