Scientists seek better way to hear a Preemie's silent pain

NCT ID NCT02885051

Summary

This study aimed to find better ways to measure pain in premature babies. Researchers compared a standard pain assessment scale with two newer methods: monitoring changes in heart rate and skin sweat. The goal was to see if these physical measurements matched up with the standard scale to help nurses more accurately detect when a baby is in pain.
