First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a phenomenon called 'offset analgesia'—where pain relief happens after a brief intense heat—can also occur with cold pain. Researchers will test how placebo and nocebo effects influence pain and itch sensations in 30 healthy adults. The goal is to better understand how the body processes pain and itch, which could guide future treatments.
