New hope for PAD patients: experimental drugs aim to stop deadly clots after leg surgery

NCT ID NCT07318610

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests two experimental drugs, REGN7508 and REGN9933, to see if they can prevent life-threatening blood clots in people with peripheral artery disease (PAD) who recently had leg surgery to improve blood flow. About 7,050 participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of the study drugs, a standard blood thinner (rivaroxaban), or a placebo. The goal is to find a safer and more effective way to reduce the risk of clots, heart attack, stroke, or amputation.
