Summary
This study tested the chemotherapy drug paclitaxel in 40 adults with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) that had stopped responding to three standard treatments. The goal was to see if paclitaxel could control the disease in patients whose tumors have low levels of a protein called P-glycoprotein. Results may offer a new option for people with few remaining treatments.
