New pacemaker technique aims to stop dangerous heart rhythms before they start

NCT ID NCT07305194

Summary

This study is testing whether placing pacemaker wires in specific, more natural locations in the heart is better at preventing irregular, fast heartbeats (called atrial high-rate episodes) than standard placements. It will follow 460 patients who need a pacemaker but have no history of atrial fibrillation. Researchers will monitor their heart rhythms for 24 months to see which pacing method works best.
