Summary

This study tested a medical device called PacePress to prevent bleeding complications in people at high risk of bleeding who need a heart device implanted or replaced. The device applies steady, even pressure to the surgical area to reduce the chance of hematoma (a painful blood collection under the skin). The trial included 122 adults taking blood thinners, but was stopped early.
